The best time of year for outdoor photos in the Far West

The Far West has a character all its own, and every season brings something different to an outdoor session.

Autumn (March to May)

Milder days, calmer evenings and warm, golden light. A favourite for families, with comfortable temperatures for little ones.

Winter (June to August)

Crisp, clear air and early sunsets, so sessions start earlier in the evening. Layers, knits and coats photograph beautifully, and the light is soft for longer.

Spring (September to November)

Often lovely evenings, and after good rain the desert can be surprisingly green. Popular for couples, engagements and weddings, so book early.

Summer (December to February)

Hot. Very hot, on some days. We plan summer sessions for early mornings or the very end of the day, keep them comfortable, and bring water. If a day is dangerously hot, we'll find another.

Whatever the season, the best light is usually in the last hour before sunset. See the sessions and ask about a date.
